If the accidentally reposted video is still playing in front of you, stay calm. Do not swipe away. Closing the video makes the recovery process take four times longer.

Look at the right-hand action column. Tap the Share icon (the curved arrow pointing to the right). The menu tray slides up from the bottom of your display. Where the yellow repost icon previously sat, TikTok replaces it with an identical circle labeled "Remove Repost".

Tap "Remove Repost". A brief pop-up notification will state: "Your repost has been removed." That single tap severs the distribution pipeline. The platform rescinds the distribution command before the server queues the video into your mutual followers' algorithmic streams.

If you reflexively double-tapped the screen or mashed the back button, you may find that the share sheet fails to update instantly. Tap out of the menu once, let the video loop run for one second, and open the share menu again. The un-repost tutorial steps remain consistent across both iOS and Android builds.
