Complete Geodude Evolution Guide: Firered Levels, Moves, and Golem Trading
Geodude follows a Medium Slow experience curve, requiring 1,059,860 total experience points to hit Level 100. Reaching Level 25 demands patience, but the payout redefines your team’s bulk. Once the evolution trigger activates, Geodude's base stat total jumps from 300 to 390, highlighted by a leap in base Defense from 100 to an imposing 115 and base Attack from 80 to 95.
This mid-game transformation arrives just in time for Celadon Gym and the Pokémon Tower in Lavender Town. As Graveler, the Pokémon gains access to enhanced bulk capable of laughing off physical Normal- and Flying-type assaults from rival trainers and Team Rocket grunts alike.
There is rarely any tactical reason to press the B button to cancel evolution at Level 25. Geodude and Graveler share almost identical level-up moveset charts in Generation III. While Geodude learns Earthquake naturally at Level 31, Graveler learns it at Level 34, a marginal three-level difference that is heavily outweighed by Graveler’s higher survivability and offensive stats during standard gym clearing.
