Did Young M. a Ever Get Paid for 'Headphanie'? the Truth Behind the Infamous Drink

What should you know about Did Young M. a Ever Get Paid for 'Headphanie'? the Truth Behind the Infamous Drink? Read our comprehensive breakdown here.

In November 2016, images of a mysterious liquor bottle began circulating across Instagram and Twitter. Designed to look identical to a standard 750ml fifth of Hennessy Privilège VSOP, the custom label read "Headphanie" in the trademark calligraphy of the French cognac house. The mixture inside combined Hennessy Cognac with Strawberry MD 20/20, a notoriously cheap, high-gravity fortified wine.

The entity behind the bottle was a Florida-based apparel and party brand named Stop Having Boring Sex. Operating out of South Florida, the promoters capitalized on the regional popularity of mixing Hennessy with sweet fruit mixers. They filled bottles, applied custom labels, and began distributing them through local venues and private pop-ups. Social media did the rest. Within 48 hours, thousands of online posts claimed that Young M.A had partnered with Hennessy to drop an official signature drink.

The beverage was entirely bootleg. No federal alcohol distribution permits were cleared, no formula approvals were filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), and neither artist nor alcohol brand had given permission.
