The controversy broke past comedy circles when sports personalities and public figures weighed in on the ethics of the bit. When high-profile commentators framed the situation as touching on serious, real-life consequences, the discourse shifted from a standard celebrity controversy into a wider editorial discussion about platform responsibility.
