Beyond the Mask: the Untold Reality of Glenn Jacobs' Family and Stepchildren
The transition from intimidating road warrior to grandfather is perhaps the sharpest transformation in Jacobs’ life. Jacobs and Crystal are grandparents to two grandchildren.
During public appearances at local Knox County high schools, ribbon-cuttings, and charity fundraisers, Jacobs often references the joy of spending quiet Sunday afternoons with his grandkids. While he maintains an imposing physical frame, neighbors around Knoxville note that his daily priorities mirror those of any Southern retiree or senior administrator: tending property, supporting youth sports, and attending family gatherings.
Grandparenthood also shifted his schedule. During his 2018 mayoral campaign, Jacobs cited his growing family as a major reason why he permanently stepped away from the punishing full-time road schedule of wrestling. Governing Knox County kept him sleeping in his own bed every night, allowing him to be physically present for school recitals and youth ballgames.
