From Underground Buzz to Vod Dominance: the Meteoric Rise of 'Obsession'
Q1: What is Curry Barker’s movie 'Obsession' about?
A1: The film is an indie psychological horror that chronicles a sound designer who unravels after discovering bizarre audio patterns in his apartment, leading to severe paranoia, surveillance stalking, and an ambiguous confrontation with an unseen presence.
Q2: Is the film based on a true crime story or real police records?
A2: No. Although the realistic staging, surveillance camera footage, and audio dispatch recordings mimic real investigative archives, the film is entirely fictional and written by Curry Barker.
Q3: Where can I watch or rent 'Obsession' right now?
A3: Following its initial limited theatrical and festival run, the movie is available to rent or purchase digitally across major platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Fandango at Home (Vudu), and Google Play.
Q4: How does this film connect to Curry Barker’s previous work?
A4: While not a narrative sequel to his 2024 viral hit Milk & Serial, the movie refines Barker's signature blend of found footage mechanics, psychological dread, and realistic indie production aesthetics on a larger scale.
