Hight Orlando Permanently Closed: What Happened, Gift Card Status, and Alternative Spots
Q1: Why did HighT Orlando and 1UP close so suddenly?
Ownership confirmed they permanently ceased operations after struggling with unsustainable overhead costs, changing downtown entertainment patterns, and escalating operational expenses that made running both high-concept rooms economically impossible.
Q2: Can I get a refund for an unused HighT gift card?
Because the venue has shut down completely, direct merchant refunds are unavailable. Patrons should contact their credit card company or banking institution immediately to file a formal dispute for goods or services not rendered.
Q3: Will HighT or 1UP reopen in a different Orlando neighborhood?
Neither ownership nor management has announced plans to relocate either venue. The equipment, fixtures, and leaseholds have been fully surrendered.
Q4: What are the best alternative speakeasy spots in Downtown Orlando?
Top alternatives within walking distance include Hanson's Shoe Repair for an authentic password-protected speakeasy experience, and The Robinson Room for sophisticated craft cocktails and lounge seating.
