Himym Cast Retrospectives: Where Ashley Williams and the Stars Stand Today
Following her recurring stint on the sitcom, Ashley Williams carved out an expansive career in television and film. She established herself as a cornerstone star, producer, and director within Hallmark Channel projects, fronting celebrated holiday franchises and family dramas. Beyond commercial screen work, Williams became an outspoken advocate for maternal health, maternal mental health awareness, and miscarriage recovery support, publishing personal essays that received widespread praise.
Her co-star Josh Radnor similarly diversified his career after hanging up Ted Mosby's boots. Radnor directed independent films like Happythankyoumoreplease and Liberal Arts, spent years performing on Broadway in productions like The Babylon Line and Disgraced, and launched a folk-indie music project alongside Ben Lee. In recent interviews, Radnor has looked back fondly on his scenes with Williams, noting that the Victoria arc contained some of the richest emotional writing of the early seasons.
The core ensemble transitioned into distinct artistic spheres. Cobie Smulders spent a decade anchoring blockbuster Marvel Cinematic Universe projects as Maria Hill before returning to prestige streaming television. Jason Segel earned critical acclaim for dramatic turns in The End of the Tour and Apple TV's hit series Shrinking. Neil Patrick Harris alternated between Tony-winning turns on Broadway, major streaming productions, and literary projects, while Alyson Hannigan moved steadily between voice work, reality hosting, and community features.
