Jayden Bartels Tiktok Faq: Everything You Need to Know About Her Rise, Career, and Roles
That pivot materialized with Goosebumps: The Vanishing, the second season of Disney+ and Hulu’s reimagined horror anthology series based on R.L. Stine’s novels. Bartels was cast as Cece Brewer, starring opposite Sam McCarthy (who played her fraternal twin, Devin) and David Schwimmer (as their botanist father, Anthony Brewer).
The narrative drops the fraternal twins into Gravesend, Brooklyn, where their father becomes entangled in the mysterious disappearance of four teenagers thirty years prior. The production demanded nuanced dramatic chemistry rather than the exaggerated reactions typical of children's sitcoms. In discussions surrounding the production, both Bartels and McCarthy noted how quickly they established a raw, believable sibling rapport on set, finding ways to ground fantastical horror elements in genuine adolescent tension.
Critics and viewers responded warmly to the dynamic. As Devin’s character underwent a terrifying physical transformation across the series arc, Bartels carried significant emotional weight, anchoring the family’s grief, suspicion, and fear. Her performance effectively dissolved the lingering stigma associated with her early social media content.
