When the Fox River Valley thaws from May through October, the taproom expands into an enclosed outdoor beer garden. Outfitted with heavy cedar tables, sun shades, and overhead string lighting, the patio doubles the brewery's floor capacity on warm weekends.

Dogs are permitted outdoors in the beer garden, provided they remain on non-retractable leashes at all times and stay off tables. Wisconsin health department codes prohibit pets inside the primary indoor taproom where canning lines and draft service operate, though service animals perform their tasks unobstructed indoors.

Fifth Ward does not operate a commercial kitchen. Instead, they run an active partnership program with Fox Valley food trucks parked directly outside the courtyard gate during peak dinner hours from Thursday through Saturday. Expect rotating purveyors serving wood-fired pizzas, smashburgers, street tacos, and artisan barbecue. Guests are also welcome to carry in food from nearby downtown Oshkosh eateries or order delivery directly to their taproom table.
