Where to Watch Chase Hudson's Movie: Streaming Guide, Cast & Plot Details
Hudson’s casting represents an ongoing shift in how Hollywood casts high-engagement YA projects. Emerging originally as a central figure in the 2019, 2020 Los Angeles creator collective scene, Hudson cultivated an audience of over 30 million followers before branching out into the pop-punk music scene with his 2021 record Teenage Heartbreak.
His early acting credits include starring in Machine Gun Kelly's musical film Downfalls High (2021). That project functioned essentially as an extended music video, leaving questions about whether Hudson could carry scripted dialogue in a traditional ninety-minute narrative. In How to Lose a Popularity Contest, Hudson takes on full comedic dialogue, narrative blocking, and sustained character arcs, signaling a deliberate effort to establish credibility as a working screen actor rather than relying solely on cameo status.
