Fastest Way to Farm Ectoplasm in Terraria: Optimized Afk and Active Setups
A secure farming bunker isolates the player from incoming attacks while letting traps shred the dungeon population below. Build a secure platform elevated approximately 15 to 20 blocks above a wide flat surface. Encase your character in solid blocks to nullify gunfire from Skeleton Snipers and rocket attacks from Skeleton Commandos.
Line the floor below with a very shallow layer of lava. The lava must be thin enough that dropped items like bones, keys, and coins do not burn, achieved by spreading a single lava bucket over a flat expanse of 12 to 14 blocks. Interlace this floor with Spiky Ball Traps and Super Dart Traps looted from the Jungle Temple.
Because Dungeon Spirits path directly through solid walls toward your bunker, passive lava traps alone will not finish them. Deploy aggressive high-tier minion setups, such as the Desert Tiger Staff, Raven Staff, or Sanguine Staff, stationed directly inside your bunker. As Spirits clip through the outer wall to reach you, the minions strike them instantly, dropping the Ectoplasm directly at your feet.
